broke down!

so.. i broke down, and bought windows vista home premium for my desktop (so i dont have to deal with the BS that ive been getting with xp home)
so hopefully within the next day or two ill be on wc3!!

my laptop has vista on it, and i havent had any problems with wc3 or any of the utilities for dota *shrugs*

I have vista on my laptop too, but no problems with WC related.

Its not really problems its just that if you don't get the Beta pack update thing, it can be quite glitchy sometimes. Also I opted a little cheaper and got an ok processor with about 1gb ram... So with vista it is really slow unless you disable stuff. If you can get some more ram on the computer i would strongly advise it. Also use readyboost, even with only 1gb its a lot better.

ive got a good athlon 64bit processor, and 2gb ddr
so far running wc3 is smooth as zamboni'ed ice

I've been using Vista 64bit no problems it is amazing and I think I'm becoming a little more defensive to all those that oppose it.

i have a 64-bit operating system... but my wireless card doesnt have 64-bit drivers anywhere out there =(((((

athlon 3200+ 64 processor
2gb DDR ram
2x SATA 7500 RPM hard drive 160gb

Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fidelity Champion series (i used to mix music)

i think thats it, im not sure though *shrugs*

well, yeah it would close wc3 with one of those wc3 fatal error messages

i just reinstalled xp-pro and i went to go onto battle.net with wc3 and it said "unable to validate game version" when i just installed it and did the patch... fuckin gay is what it is

For vista you might have to change the administration level or disable UAC or change the compatibility...

nope, it has nothing to do with software.. i narrowed it down to a hardware problem, probably with the motherboard

Hmm is it not compatible with the cpu? the graphics?

it is compatible with everything i have, its just somthing is going wrong with my hardware, it isnt the fatal errors that are worrying me, its the freezing up with the strange electronic noise coming through the speakers
so im going to work on it this weekend when i am finished working

Thats happened with me... It comes from vista dealing with warcraft i just dont know how. If i remeber correctly it was a registry error too..
